About Us
Greetings
Thank you for visiting the Department of Semiconductor Engineering in Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology.
The department was established to provide education focusing on semiconductor technology that has played an important role in current national economy and is recognized to be an essential technology especially in the era of fourth industrial revolution.
Semiconductor technology is the basis of all other industries and keeps advancing with strong global competition. In this circumstance, it is highly important to train professionals who can globally lead the semiconductor technology. The department aims to foster global semiconductor leaders by providing interdisciplinary education with the curriculum covering semiconductor materials, devices, processing, circuit design, and system architecture.
UNIST developed already an advanced graduate education and research program of semiconductor technology, particularly focusing on the semiconductor materials, devices, equipment and processing, which is the Graduate School of Semiconductor Materials and Devices Engineering. Also, UNIST holds the world-class level research capability for semiconductor technology with superior faculties and infrastructures,
The department will provide a high-level semiconductor education as cooperating with the Graduate School of Semiconductor Materials and Devices Engineering as well as Samsung Electronics Co. This program has a curriculum with subjects covering fundamental theories of semiconductor, hands-on training, and in-depth experimental courses, where the students will fabricate semiconductor devices and characterize those devices using the facilities in UNIST. These courses will provide the students with opportunities for self-directed activities in semiconductor fabrication, research, and development.
Semiconductor technology is not just a current important industrial field, but also the essential future technology. The department welcomes the passionate students who are willing to be global leaders in semiconductor technology and will try its best to make their dreams come true.
